Our Commitment to Privacy

Notes Expert is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your notes and voice recordings are personal, and we've designed our app to keep them that way.

Voice Recordings & Transcription

Transcription is powered by Apple. Notes Expert uses Apple's speech recognition to transcribe your voice recordings:

• On newer iPhones, speech-to-text processing happens entirely on-device
• On older devices, audio may be sent to Apple for transcription using their secure servers
• Audio files are stored only in your app's private storage
• No audio data is ever sent to our servers - only Apple's speech recognition is used
• When you delete a recording, it is permanently removed from your device

Data Storage

Your notes and audio recordings can optionally sync to iCloud, but are never shared with us or anyone else. All data adheres to Apple's strict encryption standards. iCloud sync requires a separate iCloud account (not included with the app).

• Local Storage: All notes, recordings, and app data are stored locally on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework
• iCloud Sync (Optional): If enabled, your notes and audio sync through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit with end-to-end encryption. An iCloud account is required separately and is not included with this app. We never have access to your iCloud data - it remains private between you and Apple.

AI Features

When you use AI-powered features like summaries or note improvements, data is sent off-device but uses anonymous access:

• Only the text content of notes you explicitly choose to process is sent
• All AI requests are made anonymously - no personal identifiers are attached
• We use industry-standard encryption for all data transmission
• We do not store or use your content to train AI models
• Voice recordings are never sent for AI processing - only text transcriptions

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our services:

• Account Information: If you subscribe, Apple handles all payment processing. We receive only a transaction identifier, not your payment details.
• Analytics: We use baseline anonymous analytics for application performance only. This data cannot identify you personally and is used solely to improve app stability and performance.
• Crash Reports: If the app crashes, we may receive anonymous diagnostic information to help fix issues.

What We Don't Do

• We don't sell your data to third parties
• We don't use your content for advertising
• We don't share your notes or recordings with anyone
• We don't track you across other apps or websites

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Delete any note or recording at any time
• Export your data through iOS sharing features
• Disable iCloud sync to keep data only on your device
• Delete the app to remove all local data
